About Monitor Information File



The Monitor Information File includes the information of your monitor.

When your monitor does not support Plug & Play function, this file enables setting suitable resolution and refresh rate for your monitor.




*About Plug & Play

When your computer and monitor support VESA DDC, the suitable resolution and the refresh rate are set by just plugging your monitor into the computer without any manual settings.

When your computer system supports Plug & Play, the Monitor Information File is not required except for installing the Color Profile.


(System requirement for Plug & Play)

  • The following OS (Operating System) supporting VESA DDC
    Windows 2000
    Windows XP
    Windows Vista
  • Computer (Graphics Board) supporting VESA DDC
  • Monitor Cable supporting VESA DDC

*About VESA DDC

Settings

For using on Windows 2000

For using on Windows XP

* For the system supporting VESA DDC

If your system supports VESA DDC, the monitor is automatically recognized and suitable resolution and refresh rate are selected.

There is no need to install the Monitor Information File except for using the Color Profile.

Settings

Connect the Monitor with the Computer and start Windows 2000.

Confirmation
  1. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings".
  2. Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display Properties".
  3. Select "Settings" tab and click "Advanced...".
  4. Select "Monitor" tab and confirm "Plug and Play Monitor" is displayed in the "Monitor Type".

*For the system not supporting VESA DDC

Install the Monitor Information File according to the following procedures. The information of the monitor is loaded into the system.

Settings
  1. Connect the Monitor with the Computer and start Windows 2000.
  2. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from "Settings".
  3. Double click "Display" icon in "Control Panel" and open "Display Properties".
  4. Select "Settings" tab and click "Advanced...".
  5. Select "Monitor" tab and click "Properties".
  6. Select "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver...".
  7. "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window is displayed and click "Next".
  8. Check "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver" and click "Next".
  9. Click "Have Disk...".
  10. "Install From Disk" window is displayed and specify the folder where the Monitor Information File is saved (the folder below where the downloaded file is saved) in the "Install from disk" window. Click "OK".
  11. Select a suitable monitor name from the list in the "Models:" then click "Next".
  12. "The wizard is ready to install the driver for the following hardware device:" is displayed and confirm that your selected monitor name is displayed. Click "Next".
  13. "Digital Signature Not Found" windows may appear. Click "Yes" to continue the installation.
  14. "Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" is displayed and click "Finish".



For using on Windows XP

*For the system supporting VESA DDC

If your system supports VESA DDC, the monitor is automatically recognized and suitable resolution and refresh rate are selected.

There is no need to install the Monitor Information File except for using the Color Profile.

Settings

Connect the Monitor with the Computer and start Windows XP.

Confirmation
  1. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel".
  2. Click "Appearance and Themes" and click "Display" icon.
  3. Select "Settings" tab and click "Advanced".
  4. Select "Monitor" tab and confirm "Plug and Play Monitor" is displayed in the "Monitor type".
*For the system not supporting VESA DDC
Settings
  1. Connect the Monitor with the Computer and start Windows XP.
  2. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel".
  3. Click "Appearance and Themes" and click "Display" icon.
  4. Select "Settings" tab and click "Advanced".
  5. Select "Monitor" tab and click "Properties" of the "Monitor type".
  6. Select "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver...".
  7. "Hardware Update Wizard" window is displayed and check "No, not this time" and click "Next".
    *The wizard may start with step 8 in some system settings.
  8. Check "Install from a list or specific location" and click "Next".
  9. Check "Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install" and click "Next".
  10. Click "Have Disk...".
  11. "Install From Disk" window is displayed and specify the folder where the Monitor Information File is saved (the folder below where the downloaded file is saved) in "Copy manufacturer's files from" window. Click "OK".
  12. Select a suitable monitor name from the list in the "Models:" then click "Next".
  13. An error message window may appear. Click "Continue Anyway" to continue the installation.
  14. "Completing the Upgrade Wizard" is displayed and click "Finish".



For using on Windows Vista

*For the system supporting VESA DDC

If your system supports VESA DDC, the monitor is automatically recognized and suitable resolution and refresh rate are selected.

There is no need to install the Monitor Information File except for using the Color Profile.

Settings

Connect the Monitor with the Computer and start Windows Vista.

Confirmation
  1. Click the Start button and select "Control Panel".
  2. Under "Appearance and Personalization", click "Adjust screen resolution" to open "Display Settings" window.
  3. Click "Advance Settings...".
  4. Select "Monitor" tab and confirm "Generic PnP Monitor" is displayed in the "Monitor type".
*For the system not supporting VESA DDC
Settings
  1. Connect the Monitor with the Computer and start Windows Vista.
  2. Click the Start button and select "Control Panel".
  3. Under "Appearance and Personalization", click "Adjust screen resolution" to open "Display Settings" window.
  4. Click "Advanced Settings...".
  5. Select "Monitor" tab and click "Properties" of the "Monitor type".
  6. In the "User Account Control" window, click "Continue".
  7. Select "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver...".
  8. In the "Update Driver Software" window, click "Browse my computer for driver software".
  9. Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer", and then click "Have Disk... ".
  10. "Install From Disk" window is displayed and specify the folder where the Monitor Information File is saved (the folder below where the downloaded file is saved) in "Copy manufacturer's files from" window. Click "OK".
  11. Select a suitable monitor name from the list in the "Model" then click "Next".
  12. An error message window may appear. Click "Install this driver software anyway" to continue the installation.
  13. "Windows has successfully updated your driver software" is displayed and click "Close".
